The Minister of State for Power Dr Goddy Jeddy Agba says the Federal Government is working hard to improve power supply and ensure safe, reliable and sustainable electricity supply in the country. Dr. Jeddy Agba stated this while commissioning the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency’s (NEMSA) Meter Generation Musuem/Gallery at the National Meter Test Station, Oshodi, Lagos. He praised NEMSA’s bold initiative in establishing the Meter Generation Musuem/Gallery which according to him would not only benefit the critical stakeholders in the Power sector but also lecturers, students, tourist and electricity users in enhancing their knowledge in the evolution of meters in Nigeria. In his own speech, the Managing Director/CEO and Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA, Engr. Aliyu Tukur Tahir gave the assurance that NEMSA would set up similar galleries of generation of electricity energy meters in other NEMSA’s National Meter Test Stations at Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Kano and Benin, to bring the facility closer to the people of Nigeria and the world at large. Engr. Aliyu who is also the Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation stated that the overall aim of the project was to educate Nigerians on how electricity meters used to be during the pre-independence era in Nigeria.
