The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), has certified a new Meter Assembling/Manufacturing company known as J Marie Logistics Limited. J Marie is a group of company specialized in providing a broad range of services in manufacturing, supply, import, export, installation assembly, electricity and digital smart meters.
The certification was given after an inspection process by NEMSA to ascertain their level of preparedness to embark on assembling and manufacturing of electricity energy meters that will meet the standard specification in the country.
Speaking during the inspection visit, Engr. Gideon Fatumbi, Head Meter and Laboratory Services Department (MLSD) NEMSA, said the mandatory test and inspection of the factory was to ascertain the level of conformity in line with NEMSA Act 2015, Metering Code Version 02 (NMC V.02), Nigerian Electricity Smart Metering Regulation, and other extant regulations.
Engr. Fatumbi noted that the inspection of the facility was the first major stage for the qualification for the company to submit its sample meters to the National Meter Test Station (NMTS) of NEMSA for the mandatory Type-Test. This is to ensure that they are safe, reliable and fit for use and can be deployed in the NESI and other work place/homes.
