Finance & Account

The Finance and Account department covers accounting processes and financial management. The account process involves recording, analyzing, classifying, summarizing, communicating and interpreting accounting transaction of the Agency to generate various financial reports to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and other statutory bodies as may be required. The department is saddled with receipts, custody, disbursement and management of receipted funds (warrants/AIE’s and IGR) and assets of the Agency on behalf of the Federal Government.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations:
    • Processing, invoicing and postings
    • Receipt of revenue and debt management
    • Payment and reconciliation of supplier accounts
    • Purchase order systems and payable
    • Payment of claims
  • Payroll Processing:
    • payment of salaries and wages including statutory deductions
    • Preparation of returns to Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), National Pension Commission (NPC), and other statutory organisations.
  • Treasury Management
    • Processing all cash transactions, maintain GIFMIS/TSA accounts and balances
    • Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Financial Reporting
    • Production of annual statutory accounts
    • Production of monthly and quarterly management account
    • Providing financial reports
    • Attend promptly to audit queries and reports
  • Financial Planning
    • Prepare business and strategic plans and quantify deliverable
    • Budget preparation and cash flow forecasting
  • Financial Compliance
    • Setting the regulatory financial framework for the Agency in accordance with IPSAS, IFRSs and other statutory requirements
    • Ensure compliance to financial regulations and other extant circulars
    • Satisfying the compliance rules of auditors and other statutory bodies
