The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) have received the
Gold Level Award for the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) deployed by the Bureau of
Public Service Reforms (BPSR) on the Agency to which it scored 80.75% percent.
Presenting the Gold Level Award to NEMSA, the Secretary to the Government of
the Federation (SGF) who was represented by the Special Assistant to the
President on Policy and Coordination, Dr. Habiba Lawal, stated that the Self-
Assessment Tool (SAT) implemented by the Bureau for Public Service Reforms
(BPSR) was part of the Federal Government’s measure to ensure improved
performance of public service and promote public growth.
Dr Lawal said that SAT allows all public Agencies assess their strengths and
weaknesses, for the deployment of the outcome of the Self-Assessment as a
management tool in identifying constraints and providing evidence based
solutions.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Director General of the Bureau for Public
Service Reform (BPSR) Dasuki Arabi, while presenting the report said NEMSA
had performed above average in most of the parameters used in the
assessment. He urged NEMSA’s management not to relent in its continuous
improvement processes.
In his acceptance speech, the MD/CEO NEMSA, Engr. Aliyu Tahir Tukur thanked
the Federal Government for the Gold Award and expressed the Agency’s
determination to leverage on the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and
Threat (SWOT) analysis, as revealed in the assessment of NEMSA.
