The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) today the 22nd February, 2018 issued out seals of authority to certified electrical contractors from the Licenced Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN) at its headquarters in Abuja.

The MD/CEO NEMSA and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Engr. Peter Ewesor, presented seals to the President LECAN, Otunba Akintola and other members of LECAN present at the occasion. He urged members of LECAN not to relent in the good measures towards restoring confidence in the power industry   and ensure safety of lives and properties in the NESI.

The President of LECAN, Otunba Dele Akintola, ushered praises on NEMSA stating that since the inception of the agency, standards have improved in the electricity industry, while ensuring safety of lives and properties. He thanked NEMSA for their support and reiterated that all shoddy electrical contractors would be stamped out.

The seals were presented in line with NEMSA’s mandate, to ensure certification of all technical personnel engaged in the practice of electrical installations along the value chain and utilization in the NESI. NEMSA is empowered by the NEMSA Act 2015, to carry out functions of enforcement of technical standards and regulations.
